How to style an Indian Blouse

A blouse is that beautiful and elegant piece of garment which we women own for ages. Our mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers wear a blouse with their choice of pairing.

     blouse

    /ˈblaʊz/

    noun

a woman's upper garment resembling a shirt, typically with a collar, buttons, and sleeves.

A blouse is a loose-fitting upper garment that was worn by workmen, peasants, artists, women, and children. It is typically gathered at the waist or hips (by tight hem, pleats, parter, or belt) so that it hangs loosely over the wearer's body. Today, the word most commonly refers to a girl's or woman's dress shirt.

Now, we all are talking about slow fashion, styling one garment in different ways, and helping the environment. But with all of that, we want to put our best foot forward when it comes to styling ourselves with an Indian Blouse. Here we have some chic ideas for you to style your blouse with different garments.

    Saree not Sorry:

Saree has always been that six yards of absolute elegance and grace but can make you look bold and beautiful when styled with the right blouse. A simple saree can be styled with a designer blouse to completely change the look. A blouse with a beautiful back can be a statement piece of the attire, and you can completely rock that with a simple Saree.

Indo-Western touch (According to the taste):

You must have heard the phrase Namak Swaadanusar, similarly, giving a western touch to your Indian blouse can enhance the look and make you ready for your friend’s Haldi function before you even know it. You can add a dupatta or a shrug to make the outfit more Indian.

    Haaye re Mera Ghagra:

There is a thin line difference between Ghaghra and Lehenga, while Ghaghra is a traditional wear long skirt worn by Rajasthani, Gujarati, Bihari, and other state women and it is a long, embroidered, pleated skirt kind. Lehengas are a more contemporary version of Ghagras. The latter is most commonly worn during weddings, sangeets, and festivals. With those traditional Ghaghra, a blouse is a match made in heaven. You can never go wrong with that.

    Conclusion:

A blouse is a very versatile piece of our traditional fashion culture. Our mothers used to pair one blouse with different sarees/ ghaghras and it matches perfectly. It is more about how it turned out instead of how it matches, you can mix and match, you can go all contrast as per your stying instincts. Hence, a blouse is not just another piece of clothing you own but an investment you made to create so many outfits for so many occasions.
